About Dr Nightingale

Dr Nightingale has been practicing as a general medical practitioner since 2004 after
completing his degree at the University of Stellenbosch and has been providing occupational
medical services to the Cape Winelands district since completing his training as an
Occupational Medical Practitioner at the University of Stellenbosch in 2011.


To further assist in reducing health risks and to ensure peace of mind during travel to his
patients, Dr Nightingale completed his training as a Travel Medical Practitioner at the
University of the Witwatersrand in 2018 where he was awarded the student of the year award.
Dr Nightingale is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa; he is
accredited by the South African Maritime Safety Authority for certification of medical fitness
to seafarers and he is registered with the South African Department of Labour as a
Designated Medical Practitioner and examiner of South African commercial divers. He is
licensed to dispense medication and to acquire, use and supply Yellow Fever Vaccines by the
Department of Health and he is a member of the South African Society of Occupational
Medicine, the South African Society of Travel Medicine, the Pan African Travel Medicine
Federation and the Southern African Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Association.
